ShareThis new Reflections of Hope episode takes us to the ancient Phoenician city of Tyre. Tyre was one of the epicenters of commerce and commercialism in the ancient world. From their harbors, the Tyrians sent their merchant ships across the entire then known world. As far as Western Africa and even up to Northern Europe. This famous city was known for their expert craftsmanship of glassware, pottery, textiles, tapestry, and jewelry. But this city became so rich and wealthy that they soon became consumed with pride and arrogance. They began to waste their riches on selfish ambition and sinful indulgence. As we walked upon the ruins of this ancient city of the past, we were reminded of some powerful principles so relevant to the modern, materialistic world we live in today. Please pause and ponder this profound life lessons from the past.
