What would change if the Bible became your first response? | Bible Claims | 04 22 2026 Your Daily Portion Sabbath School Lesson with LD “The Anomaly” Harris (L. David Harris) What changes in a home, a workplace, or a church when Scripture becomes the lens for decisions, conflict, and daily living? The Bible writers believed God’s Word is uniquely powerful. No other book speaks to the human heart the way Scripture can, but the words must move from the page into the soul. David gives a practical strategy in Psalm 119:11, hide God’s Word in your heart. That means more than reading occasionally. It means storing Scripture through repetition, meditation, and prayerful reflection, so it becomes a guardrail against sin and a guide in pressure. Hebrews 4:12 explains why this works. God’s Word is living and active, sharp enough to reach what human tools cannot reach, the thoughts, motives, and hidden places of the heart. The Bible also claims to be life giving. Jesus said His words are spirit and life. Isaiah says God’s Word accomplishes what He sends it to do. David called it comfort in affliction because it gave him life. Scripture is not stale. It is active. When your heart is broken or your life is unraveling, God can speak into your world through His Word and change what feels impossible. And the Bible is food. When the soul is empty, Scripture nourishes, fills, and sustains. That is why God calls us to daily time in the Word, not as a ritual, but as survival. The question is not only how much time we spend, but how we spend it, with an open Bible, an open heart, and a surrendered will.
