What do your words reveal about your heart? | The Truth of the Heart | 04 24 2026 Your Daily Portion Sabbath School Lesson with LD “The Anomaly” Harris (L. David Harris) If you replay the last 24 hours of your speech, what would it reveal? Were your words kind and uplifting, or anxious, irritated, sharp, and regretful? Jesus gives the principle, out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. Words are not random. They expose what is stored inside. When the heart is full of stress and “junk,” it leaks through our tone. When the heart is full of love, love comes out. This is why God’s Word matters so much. Scripture is not merely information, it is a window into God’s heart and intentions toward us. The Bible contains words straight from the heart of the living God, and those words have carried power through history, shaping lives, confronting sin, and reviving hope. Ellen G. White draws a sharp line. It is one thing to treat the Bible as moral advice that we follow only when it fits the spirit of the times. It is another thing to receive it as it truly is, the Word of the living God, our life, the Word meant to mold our actions, our words, and our thoughts. To hold it as anything less is to reject it. And that kind of rejection, especially by those who claim to believe, becomes a major cause of skepticism and unbelief in the next generation. If we want our words to change, the heart must be changed. And if the heart is to be changed, God’s Word must be received, believed, and allowed to do its work within us.
