What does real faith look like when life gets hard? | Having Faith | 05 16 2026 Your Daily Portion Sabbath School Lesson with LD “The Anomaly” Harris (L. David Harris) Faith is invisible, but its effects are unmistakable. Hebrews 11:1 says faith shows the reality of what we hope for and gives evidence of what we cannot see. That means faith is not wishful thinking or religious optimism. It is confident trust in the God who is already at work, even when we cannot yet see the outcome. Many believers know what it feels like for faith to be tested. There are moments when life becomes confusing, painful, or uncertain, and we do not know how to move forward. This lesson reminds us that shaky moments do not mean faith is absent. Faith can begin small, like a bud that has not yet opened, and still be alive, growing, and deeply real. Scripture also teaches that faith is not something we manufacture by ourselves. God has given to every person a measure of faith, and salvation itself is by grace through faith, not by our own effort. Faith is a gift, but it is also something we exercise. We respond to what God is already doing in and for us. This week’s lesson will explore what to do with doubt and unbelief, what strong faith looks like in the eyes of Jesus, and what it means to have the faith of Jesus. That matters, because faith is not just how we start the Christian life. It is how we continue, endure, obey, and overcome. So the question is not whether faith is visible, but whether your life is connected to the God you trust. Even when you cannot see clearly, faith holds to the character, promises, and presence of God.
