What makes a prayer life fearless? | Faithful Daniel | 05 03 2026 Your Daily Portion Sabbath School Lesson with LD “The Anomaly” Harris (L. David Harris) Daniel’s strength was not only his wisdom, it was his connection with God. He purposed in his heart to be faithful, and the Spirit of God was in him. That is why Scripture describes him as wise, distinguished, and greatly beloved. Daniel’s public influence flowed from private devotion. In Daniel 2, a death decree threatened every wise man in Babylon. Daniel did not panic, he prayed. When God revealed the king’s dream, Daniel immediately responded with worship. Daniel 2:20 to 23 shows why he prayed, to bless the name of God, to give thanks, and to acknowledge that wisdom, power, and answers come from the Lord alone. His first instinct was gratitude and glory to God, not self credit. Years later, Daniel 6 reveals the depth of his consistency. Even when prayer became illegal, Daniel did not hide or adjust his devotion to fit the pressure. He prayed three times a day, as was his custom, at the open window toward Jerusalem. He knelt, he gave thanks, and he made supplication. Daniel’s prayer life was steady, predictable, and fearless, because it was rooted in relationship, not convenience. And that leaves us with a heart check. If Daniel could pray with a death threat over his head, what do our excuses reveal about what we truly value?
